Mind Probe
The Ananda College Quiz Club began hosting an annual islandwide inter-school quiz competition in 2001. It was named Mind Probe in 2003 under the slogan “The ultimate odyssey for unique excellence.” Aside from the 2007 edition which was cancelled, Mind Probe has been held every year since 2001. In 2017, the competition was split into 2 categories. The junior category only accepts participants under the age of 15, while the senior category is open to all students under the age of 20. The quiz comprises of 2 rounds. First, a table round is held where all the teams answer a written test. The top 2 scorers then participate in the finals where they provide verbal answers to the questions posed to them on stage. Immediately after the conclusion of the finals, an awarding ceremony is held for all competitors.
Anada Nenasa
Anada Nenasa is an annual intra-school quiz competition where classes compete against each other to be the best quiz team in their grade. In 2021, the name of this competition was changed to “Exquizite.” In order for the young Anandians who win this event to feel like true achievers, they too are awarded at the Mind Probe awarding ceremony.
Best Quizzer
The best quizzer competition is an event that focuses on rewarding individual quizzing talent and a broad knowledge spanning a wide array of subjects. It is an intra-school quiz competition where all participants answer the same set of questions. The top 3 scorers of each grade are recognized at the Mind Probe awarding ceremony. In addition to this, the quiz club also awards the best quizzer in the entire school based on the results of this test.
Brainiac Blitz
Brainiac Blitz is an all island online individual quiz competition organized by the Quiz Club of Ananda College in collaboration with the Quiz Club of Mahamaya Girls' College.
Quiz de Maroons
Quiz De Maroons is an annual quiz competition held between the quiz clubs of Ananda College and Nalanda College. It began in the 1980s as a competition to be held alongside the Battle of the Maroons. The two schools take turns hosting the event each year, and the purpose of this event is to strengthen the bond of brotherhood between Ananda College and Nalanda College. The competition is held in the form of an oral quiz where the participants provide verbal answers to the questions asked from them. Quiz De Maroons is also held in 2 categories. Students under the age of 15 can participate in the junior category and the senior category is for students under the age of 20.
Triangular Quiz
The Triangular Quiz is an annual quiz competition held between the quiz clubs of Ananda College, Musaeus College and Royal College. It was initiated in 2014 in order to develop the friendship between the 3 schools. Each school takes turns organizing the event. This competition is also conducted as an oral quiz. The winner of this event is awarded the “Triangular Quiz Trophy” and all participants receive medals and certificates.
